We built Curated by Nagpur to help small, homegrown businesses—especially those led by women and children—reach more customers with pride. Protecting your privacy is part of that promise. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, whom we share it with, and the choices you have.

Note on Indian law: We aim to comply with applicable Indian laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and rules as notified from time to time.

1) Who this Policy covers
Customers/Buyers: People who browse or purchase on the Platform. Sellers/Vendors: Individuals or entities who list products/services. Community Members: People who join events, workshops, or forums, or interact with our social channels.

2) What data we collect
We collect information you provide directly, data created during your use of our Platform, and limited information from third parties.

A. Information you provide

  • Account & contact: name, email, phone/WhatsApp, password, addresses, language preferences.
  • Seller onboarding/KYC: business name, owner name, ID details (e.g., PAN/GSTIN, if applicable), pickup/return address, bank/UPI details for payouts, signatures, and any documents you upload.
  • Orders & support: items purchased, gift card details, invoices, messages with sellers/support, returns/refund requests, survey responses, testimonials.
  • Content: reviews/ratings, photos, product images, portfolio text, brand story, blogs, social handles.
  • Events: registrations, RSVPs, consent for photos/videos at events or pop-ups. 


B. Information we collect automatically
Device & log data: IP address, device type, browser type/version, appversion, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, time/date,session duration.
Cookies/Similar tech: identifiers that help us remember your preferences,keep you signed in, measure performance, and improve the experience.

C. Information from third parties
Payment gateways/BNPL providers: payment status, partial identifiers (no full card numbers stored by us).
Logistics/Shipping partners: tracking IDs, pick-up/delivery status, RTO events.
Analytics/Ad partners: aggregated insights (e.g., page performance, nonidentifying interests).
Social platforms: when you connect or share links (handle, profile URL).

3) How we use your data (Purposes)
We process data to operate the Platform and serve you better:
1. Provide services: create/manage accounts, enable listings, process orders, ship items, manage returns/refunds.
2. Payments & payouts: verify payments, reconcile transactions, settle seller payouts, handle chargebacks.
3. Customer & seller support: respond to queries, troubleshoot issues, manage disputes and grievances.
4. Safety & compliance: verify sellers, prevent fraud, enforce Terms & Conditions and community guidelines, comply with law.
5. Improve & personalize: remember preferences, recommend products, run A/B tests, analyze usage to improve features.
6. Marketing (optional): send updates, offers, newsletters, and event invites—only if you opt in (you can opt out anytime).
7. Community & storytelling: with your permission, feature your brand story, photos, and profiles to celebrate small businesses.
8. Events & workshops: manage registrations, attendance, honor your communication preferences.


4) Legal grounds / Lawful use
Where required by law, we rely on one or more of the following:
Your consent (e.g., marketing emails, optional data fields).
Performance of a contract (e.g., processing your order, paying sellers).
Compliance with legal obligations (e.g., tax, KYC, audit, responding to lawful requests).
Legitimate uses consistent with the DPDP Act (e.g., fraud prevention, security, analytics, service improvements).

5) Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with trusted service providers to operate the Platform:
Payment processors & BNPL providers: to accept payments and process refunds.
Couriers & shipping aggregators: to pick up and deliver your orders, manage RTOs and tracking.
Cloud hosting & IT vendors: to securely host and maintain our systems.
Analytics & communication tools: to send transactional messages (email/SMS/WhatsApp), measure performance, and improve features.
Professional advisors & compliance: auditors, accountants, legal counsel, or authorities where required by law.
Event partners (with consent): for co-hosted workshops/fairs.
Each service provider is bound to use data only for the specified purpose and to maintain appropriate security.

6) Data retention
We keep data for as long as needed to provide services, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Typical periods (guidance only; may vary by law and category):
Account & profile: while your account is active, and up to 7 years afterclosure for legal/audit purposes.
Orders, invoices & tax records: 7–8 years (statutory requirements).
Support tickets & chat logs: 12–24 months.
Marketing preferences: until you opt out or request deletion.
Event media: until you withdraw consent or request removal (subject to legal/archival constraints).

7) Your choices & rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
Access your data and request a copy.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Delete/erase data that is no longer necessary (subject to legal retention).
Withdraw consent for optional processing (e.g., marketing).
Opt out of marketing emails and messages at any time (links in messages or by contacting support).
Nominate (where supported by DPDP Act) a person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity.

8) Children’s privacy & “Kidpreneurs”

Our Platform is not intended for unaccompanied children under 18.
If you are a kidpreneur (under 18) participating as a Seller or creator, we require verifiable parental/guardian consent and registered guardian oversight for all transactions and communications.
We do not knowingly profile children or use children’s data for targeted advertising. If you believe a child has used our Platform without consent, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

9) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data (encryption in transit, access controls, regular reviews). No method is 100% secure; if we detect a risk or breach, we will take steps required by law and our policies to mitigate harm and notify where legally mandated.

10) Cookies & similar technologies
We use cookies, pixels, and local storage to:
Keep you signed in and remember preferences.
Measure site performance and understand how features are used.
Offer relevant recommendations and improve the experience.
Managing cookies: You can manage cookies via your browser settings.
Disabling some cookies may affect site functionality.

11) International transfers
Our service providers may process data in or outside India. Where crossborder transfers occur, we take reasonable steps required by applicable law and contracts with our vendors. Transfers will comply with any government notifications under the DPDP Act.

12) User-generated content & public areas
Content you choose to make public (e.g., reviews, store pages, brand stories) may be visible to others and can be indexed by search engines. Please share responsibly and avoid posting sensitive personal information.

13) Social media, messaging & communications

If you contact us via WhatsApp or social platforms, your use is subject to those platforms’ own policies. We use your contact details to send transactional updates (orders, delivery, refunds). Marketing messages are sent only with your consent, and you can opt out any time.

15) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will change accordingly. If changes are material, we will provide a prominent notice (e.g., email or banner). Your continued use of the Platform after the update means you accept the revised Policy.

16) Additional information for Sellers

KYC & payouts: We process KYC documents, bank details, GSTIN (where applicable), and transaction history to verify identity, comply with law, and settle payouts.
Storefront content: By uploading product images, brand logos, and stories, you grant us a limited license to host and promote them on our Platform and channels.
Customer data: You may receive limited customer data necessary to fulfil orders (e.g., name, address, phone). Use it only for order fulfilment and after-sales support, keep it secure, and delete it when no longer required.
Do not add customers to marketing lists without consent.

17) Additional information for Customers
Multiple-seller orders: You may receive multiple shipments and tracking numbers.
Returns & refunds: See our Returns Policy for category-specific rules and timelines.
Gift cards: If offered, gift card redemptions are tied to your account or email/phone details for security and support.

18) Legal basis for disclosures

We may disclose data where necessary to:
Comply with the law, lawful requests, or court orders;
Enforce our Terms & Conditions, prevent fraud or abuse;
Protect our rights, users, or public safety.

19) Your commitment to accurate data

To keep our community safe and fair, please ensure your details (and any information you submit about others) are true, accurate, and current. You agree not to impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
